Refinery29

me + chamomile (of course)!

all above photos from the very lovely Lani Trock
I have to say, I am so honored to have been included by Refinery29 as one of L.A.'s chicest florists. Forgive my rather verbose answers but overall, a really nice story. So lovely too to have been featured with Kristen Caissie of Moon Canyon Design and Yasmine Mei of Yasmine Floral Design. Read more here!

RILEY MESSINA

something about this image speaks to me so much. perhaps the swimmer's plunge into the dark waters? it's stunning. i can almost feel how cold yet refreshing that water is.

found on the much respected floral artist Riley Messina's lovely site, Erba Floral Studio

YUNA

Yuna in full floral armor

My very good friend Claire gave me some images recently that she had of some of my work. To this day the floral regalia that I had to create for this YUNA music video shoot remains to be one of the most difficult floral artistry requests and yet also one of my most favorites! I was so nervous the day-of, but it all came through so seamlessly. It was a very fulfilling day.

KOKEDAMA MADNESS

sometimes you just got put some googley eyes on  ;)

Couple of things:

first: happy Sunday to you!

second: I had a kokedama workshop in my studio last weekend! I started the class off with mini -terrariums! F U U N N N ! ! !

third: sorry for the the abundance in photos, but I am working on creating another site for all my outtakes and until it's up I kinda want to share with you what I am doing! And, I have to admit, I was very proud of this class -- I am always amazed at how beautiful everyone's kokedamas turn out. A + +

GREEN FINGERS / Satoshi Kawamoto

Satoshi Kawamoto!

Green Fingers,  Japan
Green Fingers in the East Village, NYC

Oh can I even begin to share Green Fingers with you?! Maybe you already know of Satoshi and his magically wonderful green world? Tokyo-based Satoshi Kawamoto is a garden stylist/artist whose work is, simply put, botanical art. Botanical art -- doesn't that just sound so good? What I sincerely appreciate about his work, besides his passion and eye and love for plants + flowers is that he explores what this relationship is that exists between us and them. It's a celebration, really. Life, death and everything green in-between. I am such a fan. Such an admirer. I very much look forward to visiting Green Fingers next time I am in New York or Japan!

"Laying the groundwork for a field where greenery is a familiar presence, he seeks to enrich the ways in which people relate to flora and fauna." -GF

Bonus: Satoshi put out a beautiful book recently called Deco Room with Plants which you can purchase from BOOK STAND. It is a must for your library!

p.s. Feel free to gush to me if you have already been! Seriously! Or send me a photo  ;)

Chamomile / Flowers

Sorry a bit late with these but here are the flowers that I did for Cortez's New Years Eve dinner. I was able to gather more than eighty percent from my garden + neighborhood, which really made these flowers in particular feel extra special. Chamomile was a bonus ; )

Can I also say thank you to everyone for all the encouragement and support regarding my new studio. It really does mean a lot to me. It's really nice to be able to share this next (big) step for Tigers to Lilies with all of you and to receive such a warm response. So, thank you.

New Year, New Studio, New Beginnings

I am so pleased to share with you that TIGERS to LILIES has an official headquarters now, one that I am over the moon for! I am still putting it together but am about 80% there. It still feels a bit surreal to me at times, and when I am there in my new studio, working or cleaning or reading I cannot help but smile from ear to ear. I feel so grateful. Giddy, really. Not so much new beginnings for me or TTL but growth. We're moving forward and doing so at a steady pace, which is the only way I know how to move anyways.

For now these shots are your first studio visit (!!) but I promise more to come! And as I am writing this I am realizing that I am smiling from ear to ear, once again.
